Here Comes Harry Potter!

28 09 2006

As I unintentionally browsed the Internet, the featured headline in www.yahoo.com just caught my eyes. Finally after years of waiting in desperation (the last sequel was so damn brilliant!) the next secheduled sequel is making its way to the cinema! What else? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Okay, I’d admit that I haven’t finished reading it but somehow through hundreds of  lecturing and debating sessions with my brother, I’ve got to learn few things about this masterpiece. Apparently in this book, a 15-year-old Harry Potter is in his 5th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. With no difference like any other Muggle teenagers, he is in full-blown of adolescence, complete with regular outbursts of rage, a nearly debilitating crush and at the blooming of a powerful sense of rebellion. I personally found his angers in this book pretty irritating at times. The storyline which strecthed over almost 800 pages is another minus point for me.

However, my brother convinced me that after a while reading it, you’ll eventually find that this masterpiece is very special and completely differs from any other books that J.K.Rowling has written before. It excludes the “there’s mystery to be solved and the wrong person is suspected of being the villain” elements. Hmm, I guess that it’s enjoyable after all to read it for an avid reader just like my brother and I (???) even though to be dead honest, I’d prefer Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. No matter waht, sometimes; watching is a better option for those who hate reading! Well, as for now, I’m marking the release date of the ever-awaited movie in my next year’s calendar – July 13th 2007.

Harry Potter rules!

Life is about…?

27 09 2006

Here’s something beautiful to think about…

Life isn’t about keeping score. It’s not about how many friends you have. Or how accepted you are. Not about if you have plans this weekend or if you’re alone. It isn’t about who you’re dating, who you used to date, how many people you’ve dated, or if you haven’t been with anyone at all. It isn’t about who you’ve kissed, it’s not about sex. It isn’t about who your family is or how much money they have. Or what kind of car you drive. Or where you are sent to school. It’s not about how beautiful or ugly you are. Or what clothes you wear, what shoes you have on, what kind of perfume you use or what kind of music you listen to. It’s not about if hair is black, blonde or brunette. Or if your skin is too porcelain white or too gloomy dark. It’s not about what grades you get, how smart you are or how brilliant everybody else thinks you are. It’s not about what clubs you are in and how good you are at your sport. It’s not about representing your whole being on a piece of paper and seeing who will accept the written you.

LIFE JUST ISN’T.

But, life is about who you love and who you hurt. It’s about who you make happy or unhappy purposefully. It’s about keeping or betraying trust. It’s about friendship, used as a sanctity of weapon. It’s about what you say and mean, maybe hurtful maybe heartening. It’s about starting rumors and contributing to petty gossips. It’s about what judgements you pass and why. And who your judgements are spread to. It’s about who you’ve ignored with full control and intention. It’s about jealousy, fear, ignorance and revenge. It’s about carrying inner hate and love, letting it grows and spreading it. But most of all, it’s about using your life to touch or poison other people’s hearts in such a way that could have never occurred alone. Only you choose the way those hearts are affected, and those choices are what life’s about.

Celebrating Ramadhan Al-Mubarak

22 09 2006

Whoa! The makan-makan session held by my Department was fantabulous! I even managed to snap few pictures for my personal collections. Yummie! The foods served were delicious. The aromas just fill in the air when you walk by the meeting room. As the host, we also had the opportunity to invite other departments to join the celebration as well. Most of them were our nearby neighbors. They expressed their gratitude and amazement to us saying that “Why our Department didn’t even thought of this?” We smiled and asked them to enjoy the food as we already did. In a month time, hopefully there’ll be another celebration on the line. But for the time being, just be prepared for the fasting month. It’s a month full of blessings! Everybody knows.

My Final Decision

22 09 2006

I’ve made up my mind last night. Before breaking fast, I managed to pay a stop at the regular pasar malam and bought some ingredients – anchovies and petai for my Husband’s famous sambal ikan bilis petai. He joined me for dinner at our Bangi favourite eating place – Lengkuas. Right after that, we went straight back home and started preparing for the chores. He was the Master Chef and I was the Assistant. I’d only have to help him in peeling shallots and garlic and of course to finely sliced the petai. The rest was handled professionally by him. I opened the refrigerator and found my Mom’s homemade tempoyak (fermented durian) and managed to persuade the Chef to add in some. Wow! smelled good and tasted good! Thanks Hunny! You’re wonderful! If it wasn’t because of you, I wouldn’t have anything great and personal to bring today. Thousand kudos to you. Muah…

Could It Be???

21 09 2006

Tomorrow, my Department is going to organize a makan-makan session as a celebration to the Fasting Month that most likely will start on Sunday. I’m actually out of idea on what to bring for tomorrow. I’ve seen the list and there were many so-called our traditional foods waiting to be served tomorrow. I just want to make things easier. I’m thinking of bringing a tub of ice-cream served with some cookie crumbs, wouldn’t it be great? On some point, I also want to bring something extra personal to the table tomorrow. Hmm, since there is a pasar malam held tonight at my area, maybe….I said maybe, I could stop by and get some petai and anchovies for my Husband’s ever tasty sambal petai ikan bilis. Hmm…I’ll think about it on my way back home. I promise tomorrow will be great!

Good Day Ahead???!!!

18 09 2006

It is Monday Morning!

After Sunday, here comes Monday. Who on Earth does not know that, huh? Quite a tiring Monday after a weekend spent in Malacca. Definitely not for leisure but work instead. However the retreat can be considered as a good one for the room was very comfortable and way beyond expectation, the location was near to Mahkota Parade and other interesting places as well. The only setback would be the food. There were not enough varieties and the waiters were not doing their job efficiently.  The retreat went well. I found out that the talks given by the facilitators from INTAN were very helpful in my process in developing my own Fail Meja. At times, we were a bit stressed out, but still, we managed to at least complete 70% of the task given. I can now fully understand the differences between Fail Meja and Manual Prosedur Kerja. It does not take a genius to figure that out! So for now, my target would be to complete my Fail Meja A.S.A.P. By the way, having to complete two Fail Meja, mean that I will have to manage my time wisely. Hopefully, this week, I will be free of any disturbance. May I be blessed with calm and peaceful atmosphere. Amin.

A Disastrous Week Indeed…

15 09 2006

I’m feeling a bit lethargic tis’ morning. Probably because of the extra loads of pizza that I took last nite. Somehow my eating style has changed tremendously. The breakfast would be the usual three stooges thingy and lunch is to be skipped for I normally opt for heavy breakfast. Things start to swerve in the late evening though. I’ll start to have craving for cakes! But only Secret Recipe’s cakes. Eww…this is gross. If I keep consuming cakes religiously, no doubt that I’m going to gain some kilos in a short time. A tragedy in the making….indeed.

Nevertheless, I can’t seem to object that SR cakes are worth buying. The ways the cakes melt in your mouth are addicting. Hmm, this week has been a busy one. With JKP and PIN meetings topping up my to-do list, I can’t seem to find time at all to scribble something here. Anyway, I’m off to Malacca this afternoon for HR retreat on FM and MPK. Hopefully this retreat will be a fruitful one. Till then, ciao

An Unfortunate Event!

13 09 2006

A very busy and  terribly a hectic day! After completing a series of multi tasks job, I finally have the chance to scribble something. My entourage and I which consist of my dearest KPSU, PSUK and PT paid our neighbouring ministry a visit. It is merely a courtesy visit in order to get to know each other better. I went there with two objectives; the firstly is to introduce myself as the new NPT officer and secondly to obtain their copies of FM and MPK to be used as my guidelines.

As my KPSU had already made an appointment with her chum, we did not have to wait for long. We were entertained almost immediately. After a long and I believe very fruitful disscussion, we’ve come to a decision that all of us need an intensive tutoring from that particular ministry. Therefore, a sort of MoU is sealed and that ministry promises to send us invitation everytime they organise any road tour or executive talk.

I personally is very comfortable and satisty with the discussion. Which brings me to the next incident. The moment I walked out from the room, I was being called by my PT to be introduced to another PSU (Noted that I’ve met the other PSU before). Excitedly I followed my PT. I found the PSU whom I’d like to call Miss Z was very straight forward and outspoken. That was my first impression. Somehow the way she talked was very annoying and disturbing. Little did I know that my dearest PT was being bullied by her! She only opened her mouth once we’ve stepped outside that ministry. But, what made me lost my respect for her was the way she “warned” my PSUK. She stressed that my PSUK needs to learn from her. I just can’t understand how such a young officer could say something rude like that.

I went back to my office with a little disappointment and regret…From the bottom of my heart I said to myself that the DPA course that Miss Z attended before has proven to be useless. I really pity her for the six months period that she spent on learning absolutely nothing about manners! Too bad that she still keeps her ego high. I strongly believe with an attitude like that, she won’t be long in the service. Mark my word gurl…

To ease the dispointment and regret, I’ve decided to give myself a treat. What better than 2 slices of Secret Recipes cakes? I’ve picked my all time favourite; Americano for myself and Raspberry Cheese for my dear Hunny. Yummie!!!

Long Vacation…

5 09 2006

Finally, after a five days cuti-cuti Malaysia, I’m back in the Office, stuck in the cubicle, doing what I love the most – chillin’. My cuti-cuti Malaysia was fantastic! I had the blast time of my life. From traveling to spending money, it proved to be worthy. I had the chance to feed ikan keli in Tok’s fishpond, went shopping to Padang Besar, accompanied Zaide and Fiza to choose their wedding gifts, ronda-ronda Padang Kota, jalan-jalan cari makan and many more. Wee…best!!!

However, I hate the fact that this year’s budget focused more towards fulfilling the needs of kakitangan Kumpulan Sokongan. They were awarded with an increment in their COLA allowance plus they will also receive a two times bonuses in comparison to ONLY one time for kakitangan P&P. Ouch! Reality Bites. Despite all that, I guessed our Prime Minister had tried his best to be all fair and square. Hmm… Today, I heard very disappointing news. I heard that the retreat that was planned before is going to be held at a totally unexpected location. Instead of Langkawi, the Boss insisted of going to Malacca. I’ve put aside some amount of money to buy chocolate and perfume in Langkawi…well, looks like it’s going to be replaced with buying belacan and cencalok instead.

Another news that I heard…

Starting from 16th September 2006, I’ll be menanggung kerja for another 41 post. FYI, menanggung kerja spells more work and extra pocket money. Huwaa! For the more work and Yay! For the extra money! I’m going to be cool about it! For sure…..for the time being.
