It’s Hot In Here

15 05 2007

Dear Blog,

I arrived here in De Palma Inn, Shah Alam @ approximately 4 o’clock yesterday. My first impression? Whoa! How come it is written as De Palma Hotel? (in the letter that I received) and yet the sign spells INN.

Walked into the room and I found myself in a small and humid room. It smelled really bad. And, guess what? There’s only one queen-size bed, meant to be shared with God-knows who will it be. Luckily, my roomate turned out to be a very sweet and nice lady. Phew!

We had dinner after Maghrib prayers and true to its concept – Apo Kono Ekau Jang Eh! (Nogori Sembilan), we had two dishes cooked in masak lemak style. Huhu…The vegetables served was neither fresh nor crunchy. Banyak betul komen aku nih!

After dinner, there was a Public Speaking session. Most of the participants volunteered to spoke up and ended up telling us stories about themselves, which were great as we get to know each other better.

For the time being, things are going smooth and clear. I hope the course will end up pretty much soon(may the time pass by quickly). Wait for Ibu, Rifqi. I’ll be coming home this weekend.

And not forgetting,

 Baba…

I miss you too.

Hooray!

Phew! I’ve just finished with my biggest event of the year – APC 2006. What a relief!

Alhamdulillah, I supposed the event went smooth and well. Thanks a bunch to my collegues for making this happen. I fully depended on them during my absence to attend BOMBA Module (sucks! coz I believed I earned myself a stalker). I’ll blog about BOMBA soon.

The last time I remember standing on the stage, reciting poem was in the year 2003, at one of PENEMU’s (Persatuan Anak-Anak Pulau Mutiara) event. I can’t recall the name of the event but it was held in remembrance of the late Abdullah Fahim. Ris was the one who actually suggested the poem (it was one of her collection of poems) which was written in both English and Bahasa. There were four of us on the stage. Ris, me and another two guys. No music. Just a simple and clean performance.

This time, I recited a poem together with a “petikan gitar” (deng, what is it called in English hah?). I personally thought that it was cool as I didn’t have to look at the Q- note much. This is my biggest achievement ( we had the Minister himself  in the Auditorium) as my last performance only involved UPM’s Vice Cansellor as the main guest. Go figure!

After a hard work, I believe that I should really give myself a treat. I planned to catch a movie this weekend. Or a girl’s night out, perhaps? *winks* Yeah, I’m not going back to see my young this week. Miss you terribly but Ibu has got things to do, Rifqi. Well, I’ll be attending Kursus Induksi next Monday @ De Palma Hotel, Shah Alam.
